Ngorogoro crater after seeing a family of lions:
We were just parking when a baboon jumped into the car and landed on my moms back. I was in the back of the car when the baboon sat next to me. I looked at it and jumped over the one that used my moms back as a diving board. I also leaped over another seat and landed in the front!!!!! My mom was so scared the driver had to climb in the back and swat them out - did I mention my mom started to scream and crashed into the door to try to get out of the car (the driver thought she was dying). The baboon that landed on my moms back opened a lunch box and held up a half a sandwich and an apple and left with them.
It was scary and very funny (sorry I don't have any pictures - if I did I would put them on).
Lions like to sleep like my dog shaila.
p.s. yes Grady, I did get sand up my pants.
Tutuonana!
Those baboons look like they might be as big as you!
ReplyDeleteYour poor mom, Finn. I would have been totally freaked-out if a baboon had gotten into my vehicle and onto my back! Not to mention if it took my lunch!! Lara wonders if you were scared when that happened? Maybe that's why you got yourself all the way into the front seat. Did you scream like you mom? (Porter wants to know that)
ReplyDeleteVera would like to know if you were actually in the crater?
Demetri wonders if you were scared when you first saw the lions? I'd like to know what keeps the lions from jumping into your vehicle? Ryan is wondering if you saw the lions leave the area?
When will we see you again in person, Finn?
Tutuonana!
Habari!
DeleteYes Lara - I did get scared. I'm not sure I've ever jumped so far so fast! Porter - I didn't scream, and my mom was a little upset I didn't throw it out the window. Vera-I was in the actual crater, although really its a caldera. Demetri - no - I wasn't scared when I saw lions. The vehicles are closed up so the lions would have to climb up to the top. Ryan - no, I didn't see the lions leave the area. I will probably see you on Wednesday!!! Kwaheri!!!!!
Wow! Baboons go far for a good sandwich! - Or maybe they wanted the apple. We think your mom showed remarkable restraint and poise, considering what was happening to her.
