ABOUT

This blog describes my adventures in Africa. In 2018, this will be my 4th trip to Africa. I traveled to Rwanda in March 2016, and Kenya and Tanzania in the Spring, 2015, and Kenya in 2010. On our journey, we'll be visiting schools, centers for people with disabilities, making friends, looking for animals and finding adventure wherever we go. Wahoo!!!!

Schools & Lake Turkana

April 4
Today we visited some schools and they were all girls schools.  It was very fun because they sang and danced and laughed a lot.

Mom’s note:  the girls had a very fun time teasing and playing with Finn.  In fact, they kept begging me to leave him there with them until I came back (in a few years).  Some girls came up to me and said “is he your son?”  I said “yes”  they said “he is very very funny, can we keep him?”  Then the proceeded to chase him around the courtyard trying to touch him and his beautiful blonde hair.

Finn”s note: I didn’t want her to make a “Mom’s note"… even though it was pretty funny…Issacko did not want his picture taken.Look at this:

This afternoon we drove to Lake Turkana.  This is the largest saltwater lake in the world and it is filled with crocodiles.

  1. HI Finn,
Riley is wondering if you saw any crocodiles? Demetri is wondering if you're going to get "cooked" there in the hot sun?! Porter wants to know what kind of crocodiles live in the lake.
Violet is confused. If there are crocodiles in the lake why do you look like you're about to go swimming?
We are not surprised that the girls wanted you to stay with them. Ryan wants to know how they caught you. Grady wants to know how often you have to reapply sunscreen in Africa? Vera is like Isaako-she doesn't like her picture taken either!
Keep the entries coming, Finn. We love hearing from you.

  2. We're you able to go in the water and float? I would be worried about the crocodiles!
