Today our car got stuck. But then we figured out a way to get it out (put logs under the tires and drive out)
And then after that, we had to wait for "hours" for the camels to get out of the way.
Here we are riding the 4 wheeler...
Here we are when we got back (I was COVERED in dirt).
A few things about driving in the Chalbi desert:
1. there is no speed limit (p.s. our drivers drove as fast as they could).
2. there basically aren't any roads and our drivers went as fast as they could on no roads.
3. there aren't any seatbealts or at least they're all broked.
4. it is veeeeeeeeeery bumpy.
p.s. the swimming pool felt gooooooooooooooood.
One more thing... this place was super fun. a giant sand dune. local kids joined us for jumping and running.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! Kwaheri!
Finn, we have had our own bit of adventure. Yesterday we had a fire drill that may have been real because we had to stand outside for 20 minutes in the cooooooooooooold morning air. Okay, maybe that's not as exciting as crocodiles, but it's the best we could do!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Grady bets that you got some sand down your pants!
Wow the sand dunes look like fun! Have you had the chance to ride a camel?
ReplyDeleteHi Finn! We miss you and we are so happy you are having a great time in Africa. I think the crocodiles knew you are a Tiger Shark so they didn't want to mess with you. Brit told me at practice that this is her favorite post so far. I love them all. I especially enjoy seeing you swim and play soccer with your new friends. Can't wait to hear about your adventures in person!
