This is our cool safari vehicle! The best is to sit on top of the seats!!!
These are the animals we saw:Nile crocodile - it is a crocodile that comes from the Nile River, and can grow to 21 feet (7M). The world's biggest reptile.

Cape Buffalo
Topi - a large antelope, that is the fastest animal next to the cheetah.

Impala
Impala - also an antelope that is smaller but still fast. This is a male impala because it has horns. That's elephant poop in the background.
Did you also know that I went on a boat ride. Not like our crazy one on Lake Turkana last year (you can read about that in last year blog). We mostly saw really cool birds and hippos.
African Eagle - looks almost exactly like a Bald Eagle except it has more white on front and back of its head and it's a little smaller.
African Eagle
Zebra - a Zebra is striped white and black so when an animal is hunting it, it can confuse the animal by running in a group.
Hippo - Hippos are vegetarians, and they are HUGE, their hole body can be under water with only their eyes sticking out.
Hippo in the grass.
Warthog - Warthogs are ugly looking creatures, and yes they can have warts.
Did you know my mom and her dad got chased by warthogs when she was really young. Isn't that cool.
This is an elephant. We saw a family of about 20. They are so huge, but did you know that when they walk they do not make a sound (except when they are eating bushes!)

This is an elephant skull. Isn't that super big. It's more than half of me.
"Murabheo". ;)

Hi Finn! Did you get our comments from Friday? We are having fun reading about your adventures and hard work!
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of food are you eating?
We miss you!
For dinner we eat beans, rice, vegetables, french fries, and chicken. For breakfast, we eat eggs, yogurt, and fruit. I actually did not get your comment from Friday. What post was it on? I'm having fun. Love, Finn
ReplyDeleteThose are awesome pictures! Especially the elephant's skull! Awesome stuff!

The elephant's skull is so big that he must have a really big brain too. DO you know if that's right? We always thought zebras just hung out in places with lots of sun and shade, but the stripes confusing their predators makes so much more sense. Thanks for passing along that information.
ReplyDeleteYou look like you're having fun, an the picture of you and your Mom is really great!!
Love,
G'pa and G'ma
